TUZLA, March 12 (FENA) - A peaceful gathering of mothers and women of Srebrenica was held yesterday at Trg slobode in Tuzla. Like every 11th of the month, the message is clear: Justice for victims, punishment for criminals!
The mothers and women of Srebrenica were outraged by the birthday greeting to war criminal Ratko Mladić, which was posted on Friday in Bratunac, ten kilometers from the Memorial Center in Potočari.
“This is spreading hatred, nationalism, insulting the victims... The card was posted by his accomplices, that is, if they did not directly participate in the genocide, their fathers or other relatives did. I am telling the people who support Mladić to be at least a little ashamed, to sympathize with their neighbors and friends, not to insult us,” says Nura Begović, president of the "Women of Srebrenica" Association.
She also commented on the formation of the case against Milorad Dodik for denying the genocide and expressed the hope that the BiH Prosecutor's Office will work on it until the end. She also commented on the statements made by High Representative Christian Schmidt.
“We heard the news about the High Representative's statements. We reacted immediately and if he said that, he would have to apologize to us. We follow all his decisions and all his public appearances. We are now hearing speculations about his statement, and we expect him to write, to say whether he said it or not. If he said that, he should apologize. He then should schedule a meeting with all the associations, and tell us what he said,” said Begović.
