Government of Japan financially supports health institutions in Doboj, Maglaj and Kozarska Dubica

SARAJEVO, March 14 (FENA) - The Government of Japan provided grants in the amount of 219,620 euros (about 429,500 KM) for the procurement of ambulances and medical equipment for health centers in Doboj, Maglaj and Kozarska Dubica.

Ambassador of Japan to BiH Kinefuchi Masami and the directors of the mentioned health care centers Vladimir Marković, Nejra Nalić Medžić and Vladimir Babić signed the contract at the Residence of the Ambassador. The Mayor of Doboj Boris Jerinić, the Mayor of Maglaj Mirsad Mahmutagić and the Mayor of Kozarska Dubica Radenko Reljić attended the signing too. All of them expressed their gratitude for this gesture of humanity by the Government and people of Japan, stressing that it will contribute to improving the quality of services provided to the population.

Ambassador Masami emphasized that the goal is to improve the quality of life of citizens in BiH in various areas, and the area of healthcare is particularly important. The Government of Japan has donated, over 27 years, equipment to 176 health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Government of Japan allocated 77,494 euros (about 151,600 KM) for the Project to equip the Doboj Health Center with an ambulance and medical equipment.

EUR 76,912 (about KM 150,400) was approved for equipping the Maglaj Health Center with two ambulances.

For equipping the Kozma i Damjan Health Center in Kozarska Dubica with an ambulance and medical equipment, the Government approved 65,214 euros (about 127,500 KM).

These projects represent the continuation of previous support and will contribute to much more efficient and effective services. The Government of Japan contributes to the improvement of human well-being in sectors such as health care, education, or demining in Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of the "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GAGP)" program. The total amount of grant aid in the past 27 years exceeds 20 million euros (about 39 million KM).
