MOSTAR, May 2 (FENA) - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, who attended the opening of the International Business Fair in Mostar, said that in the last two years, the exchange of goods between the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina has significantly increased, and that the first indicators in In 2023, they say that the exchange will increase by an additional ten percent.

- I am looking forward to the fact that Croatia is represented by about fifty of our companies that are present on the BiH market, and this goes hand in hand with the significantly increased trade between Croatia and BiH. It reached four billion euros in 2022, and the first data for 2023 indicate that it is already 10 percent better than it was last year. I am looking forward to continuing the investments on the track of the 1.3 billion euros that Croatia, that is, its companies, have invested in Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Plenković.

He was particularly pleased, he added, that from tomorrow the air line between Zagreb and Mostar will be re-established.

- Croatia Airlines will fly three times a week, which will additionally connect Mostar with Zagreb and enable better and better communication of both citizens and businessmen - said the Croatian Prime Minister.

Plenković announced a joint session of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Republic of Croatia for the end of June, and reiterated that Croatia will continue to support BiH on its Euro-Atlantic path.

- You know that we advocated as much as possible for the granting of BiH candidate status in December. We want further reform efforts to be made, especially now that all government institutions have been established. In this way, a contribution will be made to economic development, balanced regional development and a better quality of life for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina - he emphasized.

When asked by a journalist whether the Republic of Croatia "helped the high representative" in making the decision that resulted in the removal of the blockage in the appointment of a new federal government, the Croatian Prime Minister replied that he was familiar with that narrative that appeared in the BiH section. media.

- High Representative Schmidt is independent in his work. Croatia's position is that we have two good wishes for the functioning of BiH: one is political stability, and the other is the functionality of the country. Bosnia and Herzegovina is our friendly country, we are directed towards it and it towards us, we want to help it in every way - said Plenković.

He emphasized that political stability is a key prerequisite for further progress.

- This means that you have operational governments at all levels of government, budgets are passed, laws are adopted and reforms are implemented. When I became the head of the Croatian government seven years ago, my goal was political stability. When we achieved that, we achieved all strategic goals, such as entry into the Eurozone and Schengen, inflation in the Republic of Croatia is going down, we also rapidly reduced the public debt, and we achieved a budget surplus. We want such good things for Bosnia and Herzegovina as well - he said.

Plenković also commented on the fact that the parliamentary majority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina depends on only one vote, saying that this does not have to be a problem.

- I have been working in a majority of one or two representatives for seven years and that is no problem if people have mutual trust and if they have a constant, open and honest partnership dialogue - said Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković.
