SARAJEVO, May 23 (FENA) - A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, initiated activities related to the dismissal of Abdulah Skaka from the position of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the State of Qatar.
The procedure will be carried out in accordance with the current regulations that regulate that area, respecting the presumption of innocence and the jurisdiction of the judicial authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bećirović's office announced.
"The final decision on the dismissal of Ambassador Skaka and the appointment of a new ambassador will be made by the Presidency of BiH in accordance with its competencies," stated the foreign policy advisor to the member of the Presidency of BiH Hoda Dedić.
The current ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Qatar, Abdulah Skaka, was arrested today on suspicion of abuse of office while he was the mayor of Sarajevo in the period from 2016 to 2020.
Skaka was arrested as part of the operation codenamed 'Visionary', which is being carried out on suspicion of committing several criminal offenses.
He is suspected of, among other things, abuse of position, unscrupulous work in the service, giving gifts and other forms of benefit, and falsifying an official statement.
