SARAJEVO, May 24 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of People and Justice Party (NiP) Elmedin Konaković today welcomed the moves of the judiciary and joined those who wonder why some things did not happen earlier.

Commenting on the press inquiry about the latest arrests in Bosnia and Herzegovina, among them an ambassador and a municipal mayor, Konaković said that these things did not happen before because of the pressure on the work of the judiciary through the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) and other tools managed by this system.

"This is what we are witnessing today, without that kind of pressure, the judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina can work much easier, more objectively and without political influences. I witnessed some processes when no one was allowed to say that," Konaković added.

He believes that now in BiH the institution of responsibility for the job that someone chooses you for is becoming much more serious and there are no more protected persons.

In the last few days, the MoI of the Sarajevo Canton arrested the mayor of Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipality, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, BiH Ambassador to Malaysia and former municipal mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Senaid Memić, and BiH Ambassador to Kuwait and former mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, for abuse of office.
