RAMSTEIN AIR BASE/SARAJEVO, May 29 (FENA) - Two B-1B aircraft assigned to the 7th Bomb Wing from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, will conduct a low approach flyby over Sarajevo and other cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to underscore the United States’ strong partnership with the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) and our enduring commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character.

The media will have the opportunity to record the low flight of the bomber, the cooperation of the communication teams of the US Army and the BiH Armed Forces, as well as the statements of the US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy, the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez and the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Senad Mašović.

"Today we recognize the enduring bond between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina," said U.S. Air Force Gen. James Hecker, commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa, and NATO Allied Air Command.

"This flyover today shows our commitment to fostering strong bilateral relations and serves as a testament to our shared values and common goals. Through cooperation and understanding we pave the way for a future of peace, security, and prosperity in the region."

The flyby will take place over Sarajevo, but the two B-1B aircraft will be visible throughout the country.  In addition, the B-1B aircraft also will participate in a joint military event near Tuzla involving Joint Tactical Air Controllers from the AFBiH and United States Army Special Forces.  This event is part of the natural progression in advanced bilateral military-to-military training.

Please note these fly-bys may be canceled at any time due to weather or other mission requirements with little to no notice.

The B-1Bs are operating out of RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, for the latest Bomber Task Force iteration.

Bomber Task Force missions enable Airmen to continuously conduct operations throughout the world at a moment's notice to help maintain global stability and security while enabling units to become familiar with operations in different regions.

The B-1B Lancer is a long-range, heavy bomber that can carry the largest conventional payload of guided and unguided weapons in the Air Force inventory. The multi-mission B-1B is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force. It can rapidly deliver massive quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against any adversary, anywhere in the world, at any time, announced the press office of the US Embassy Sarajevo.
