SARAJEVO, May 31 (FENA) - The RS and Prijedor authorities have the institutional responsibility to promote tolerance and respect for victims, stated the Embassy of the United States of America in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of marking May 31 - the White Armband Day, commemorating the victims of war crimes in Prijedor.
We stand with the citizens of Prijedor in honoring civilian victims of the 1992-1995 war.
Limiting victims' ability to commemorate their suffering erodes mutual trust and undercuts prospects for reconciliation, which is necessary for a peaceful and prosperous future for all BiH citizens.
The United States continues to call on BiH authorities at all levels to promote acceptance of judicially established facts about the 1992-1995 war, honor all civilian victims, assist survivors, promote respectful commemoration, and seek justice, stated the US Embassy on its Twitter profile.
