VIŠEGRAD, June 4 (FENA) - In the organization of the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Višegrad and the association of the families of the missing "Višegrad 92" and "Woman – Victim of War", the 31st anniversary of the horrific crimes against the Bosniaks of that city was marked on Saturday.
Roses were dropped from the Mehmed - Pasha Sokolović Bridge into the Drina River in memory of more than 3,000 murdered civilians.
Flowers were also laid at the places where civilians were murdered, in Pionirska Street and Bikavac, where more than 140 civilians were burned alive in live pyres in the houses of Sumbula Zeba and Meho Aljić.
In addition to the family members of the murdered Bosniaks, the commemoration in Višegrad is attended by numerous officials, including the FBiH Vice-Presidents Igor Stojanović and Refik Lendo, the RS Vice-President Ćamil Duraković, President of the Association of War Camp Inmates of BiH Seid Omerović, the FBiH Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nermin Dizdar and a representative in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament Džemal Smajić.
At the Stražište cemetery, after the noon prayer, a funeral service was held together with the burial of the remains of eight Bosniak victims who were killed in 1992, and whose remains were exhumed in the past years in the area of Višegrad, Srebrenica and Žepa.
