SARAJEVO, July 19 (FENA) - Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro Filip Adžić assessed today during the meeting in Sarajevo that the relations between the two countries are good, although there is always room for their enhancement.

After the meeting, Nešić stated that the two countries and the two ministries have the same goals - membership in the European Union and "contributing to our departments being locomotives of that process".

He said that he is particularly pleased that during his visit to Sarajevo, the Director General of the European External Affairs Service, Angelina Eichhorst, highlighted as positive the results achieved by the Ministry of Security in its European agenda.

"Minister Adžić and I are at the head of ministries that have a great responsibility, both for the security of our countries and the security of the region. In this respect, the Ministry of Security is resolved to cooperate with all the countries of the region at the highest level, bearing in mind the common history and, I hope, the common future," said Nešić.

He pointed out that after establishing full cooperation with EUROPOL, as Ministry, they set the next goal, which is FRONTEX. He added that he had discussed this with Minister Adžić, as Montenegro had signed an agreement with FRONTEX.

"Our countries represent a crossroads used by criminals, smugglers and human traffickers when they try to escape the rule of law and justice. We must strengthen the operational cooperation of our police agencies in these and other types of crime," said Nešić.

I believe, he added, that our common starting point is to once again be without borders and to be part of the EU.

Minister Nešić said that he received assurances from Minister Adžić that Montenegro will undertake activities to quickly find a solution to the issue of crossing the border in the border areas.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Adžić, said that the relations between the two countries are at an exceptional level, although there is always room for improving relations.

"We jointly agreed that we must act more as a team regarding the issues that concern our two countries and work together and find solutions together," said Adžić.

According to him, one of these is the issue of border crossings and enabling citizens entering Montenegro from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from the other side, to cross borders more easily.

He says that they also noted that there is still a lot of work to be done in the fight against organized crime, which is a key priority of the Government of Montenegro, and I believe of BiH as well.

According to him, there was also talk about migration, which has been particularly relevant in recent years.

"There is a large influx of migrants and a constant challenge for countries to deal with it. What is great progress for Montenegro is the establishment of full cooperation with FRONTEX. I hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will do the same as soon as possible. This is something that can increase professionalism, but also enable the use of important technologies that are effective in the fight against illegal migration," said Minister Adžić.

Minister Adžić pointed out that the future of all Balkan countries is in the European Union, and that the abolition of borders is something that awaits us upon joining the EU.
