SARAJEVO, August 16 (FENA) - On the basis of the Decision of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the declaration of the Day of Mourning, according to which cultural and entertainment programs are not held in public places on this day, the Sarajevo Film Festival announced that today the screenings of films will not be held. There will also be no film screenings as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival in Mostar and Tuzla.
After the horrific events and murders in Gradačac, the Sarajevo Film Festival today at 10:30 a.m. at the Festival square is organizing a public discussion on the topic "Femicide in film, television and new media".
On the panel, filmmakers who have dealt with this topic in their own work and through social engagement will talk about art and media representations of violence against women (directors Aida Begić, Vanja Juranić, Kumjana Novakova, director Ademir Kenović and actress Nadine Mičić). The panel will be moderated by Nebojša Jovanović.
This panel will be the only public event of today's program of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival.
"We will spend this day of mourning with dignity, with the message "Solidarity with all victims of violence against women," the SFF announced.
