SARAJEVO, December 6 (FENA) - A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in his office on Friday.
He thanked PM Kurti for the decision to abolish the visa regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that, "we highly value this exceptional unilateral and, therefore, extraordinary gesture by Prime Minister Kurti and the Government of Kosovo."
Komšić noted that this move will undoubtedly enhance connectivity between the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, as well as increase mutual trade exchange.
He also addressed the reported criticisms regarding Kurti’s visit and his meetings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which have emerged from Republika Srpska and the wider region.
Komšić reminded that the entity of Republika Srpska is not a subject of international law and is not authorized to issue visas for entry into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Furthermore, he stressed that members of the BiH Presidency will certainly not seek permission from Dodik or anyone else regarding whom they meet with or what they discuss.
Such criticisms from regional countries, he added, "are seen as yet another clear attempt to undermine the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina and exert pressure on its sovereign bodies and institutions in conducting foreign policy."
Komšić and Kurti also discussed broader political and social developments within the region during their meeting.
