Local communities in BiH seek more active role in EU integration process

SARAJEVO, September 24 (FENA) – Local governments are not merely observers of the European integration process, but direct stakeholders, given that as much as 70 percent of the European Union acquis is implemented at the local and regional levels, it was said at the conference “Municipalities and Cities on the Road to the EU: Overview of the Situation and Next Steps,” organized in Sarajevo today by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Association of Municipalities and Cities, together with the Association of Municipalities and Cities in the entity of Republika Srpska, with the support of SALAR International.
