SARAJEVO, February 6 (FENA) - The trial of former heads of the State Security Service (SDB) Jovica Stanišić and Franko Simatović Frenki, accused of war crimes in Croatia and BiH, continued at The Hague by witness testimony, but behind the closed doors.
The testimony at the closed session is the highest level of witness protection in the proceedings before the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals in The Hague, the legal successor of the ICTY.
During a brief procedural hearing, in the public part of the session, the court heard that the witness conducted an investigation from May to August 1992 and wrote a report about it.
Mr. Stanišić's Defense Counsel Wayne Jordash and Prosecutor Douglas Stringer argued whether the testimony of the witness should be limited to that report or not.
Presiding Judge Burton Hall said that the Council would decide on the scope of the statement during the testimony, BIRN reports.
