SARAJEVO, February 20 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Dragan Čović met with British Ambassador to BiH Edward Ferguson and discussed the state of the reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina with an emphasis on Euro-Atlantic processes.
They agreed on the necessity of the implementation of the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court in the Ljubić case, as well as the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.
They estimated that the act of submitting the responses to the Questionnaire to the EU High Delegation was a great achievement for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the best evidence against all forms of skepticism. This is another confirmation that BiH has a functional coordination mechanism on EU issues, which can meet all the further requirements of the European path.
When it comes to NATO, the collocutors estimated that the engagement of diplomatic missions of BiH in European centers should be further intensified in order to expand the existing consensus on the allocation of the MAP at the upcoming April ministerial meeting in Brussels.
Chairman Čović informed Ambassador Ferguson about the activities related to the amendments to the Election Law, especially in the part concerning the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH and members of the BiH Presidency. He assessed it was necessary to overcome the existing differences in the negotiations and to strive for solutions that consistently implement the principle of legitimate representation, while at the same time meeting the principles of the European Court of Human Rights.
He also expressed his full commitment to enacting comprehensive and inclusive solutions that strengthen the constitutionality and rule of law in BiH, and at the same time bring the country closer to the European family, stated the BiH Presidency.
