SREBRENICA, March 12 (FENA) - The Austrian Institute of Technology and the Institute for Structural Development will present a Master Plan "Srebrenica Drina Euro - Region and Srebrenica Euro - European City of Culture 2024".
On behalf of the Austrian Institute of Technology Alexandar Petritz said that the benefits of the Master Plan are multifaceted, and the ultimate goal is the candidacy of Srebrenica for the European City of Culture of 2024.
“Srebrenica will be the center of everything. Within the Master Plan, we look at which segments need to be strengthened for a successful bid. Within the framework of the candidacy plan we will have cooperation with the neighboring countries, and in this way we have our euro region. The European Union will support such regions. The goal is to create a strong economy and new jobs. The candidacy for the European City of Culture and the City of Peace are instruments that strengthen the city itself, but also investments in the city,” said Petritz, who believes that Srebrenica has a great chance to become the European City of Culture.
He pointed out that there is a possibility that the candidacy for the European City of Culture will go in partnership with one Austrian city.
