MOSTAR, January 28 (FENA) - On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the deaths of three Italian journalists of RAI television, Marc Luchette, Dario D'Angelo and Alessandro Oto, who were killed on 28 January 1994 in Mostar, flowers were laid on Monday at the site where they lost their lives.
The flowers were laid by Italian Ambassador to BiH Nicola Minasi, representatives of the City of Mostar, the Mostar Peace Center, the OSCE Mission to BiH and the residents of the Children's Home Mostar.
Ambassador Minasi recalled that RAI journalists wanted to tell the stories about the suffering of children during the war and all other people who had suffered in Mostar during the war in BiH. They were killed by a mortar shell that exploded in their vicinity.
“Through their work they wanted to tell Italy and Europe what was happening here, but they also wanted to make their contribution to all those who were suffering so much. Today, we must view their sacrifice in the light of all those who are still suffering and all those who still need help and a better life,” said Ambassador Minasi.
Mostar Mayor Ljubo Bešlić emphasized that the citizens of Mostar wanted to pay homage to the victims of this tragedy, saying that the citizens of Mostar must not forget the brave journalists who gave their lives to spread the news from the war-torn Mostar.
