SREBRENICA, July 10 (FENA) - The US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson joined the Peace March today and on this occasion addressed the participants, saying that it was a great honor to walk together with them to Potočari.
“I am here as someone who represents the US Government and the people of the United States. Tomorrow I will attend a memorial ceremony to commemorate the victims of genocide and the burial of another 33 victims who will finally find their final resting place. The United States is committed to assisting Srebrenica and BiH to find peace and come to a brighter future in which prosperity and justice will be equally close to all citizens of BiH,” Ambassador Nelson said during the address.
When asked by journalists about the frequent denial of genocide, Nelson said that the history of Srebrenica can never be forgotten.
“The history of Srebrenica cannot be repeated or forgotten. We should look towards the future, but we must never forget Srebrenica,” said Ambassador Nelson.
