SARAJEVO, November 22 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to Europe culturally and historically and is politically committed to the future in the EU, therefore, the Islamic Community, as a European community of Muslims, will strive to develop its educational and institutional capacities in the most responsible way to contribute to the future of a multi-religious, pluralistic, open and democratic Europe, said Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović
At a reception after the announcement of his new seven-year term of office as Raisu-l-ulama and head and supreme mufti of the Islamic Community (IC) in BiH, Rais Kavazović addressed the members of the IC Council, religious dignitaries, representatives of the legislative and executive branches of BiH and the diplomatic corps in BiH and said he also sees his new mandate as a pledge of supreme responsibility and honor.
In the coming period, the Islamic Community will continue to adapt its activities to the European legal, social, political, cultural and economic context, and there are two reasons for this: a significant number of members of the Islamic Community in BiH and Bosniaks and others living in Western European countries.
"In our immediate BiH community, the Islamic Community will continue to maintain sacred religious and spiritual values internally, and will continue to focus its activities on the educational, moral and social goals of its mission at the social level," said Raisu -l-ulama Husein ef. Kavazović at a reception given on the occasion of his new seven-year term as Raisu-l-ulama.
