SARAJEVO, February 16 (FENA) - Kuwait Airways will re-launch its line between Kuwait City and Sarajevo as of June 9. The direct link between the two cities will continue until 12 September with flights every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday carrying passengers with Airbus A320, FENA learns from the Sarajevo International Airport.
Kuwait Airways seasonally flew this route in 2013 and, due to the great interest of tourists from this part of the world, decided to re-introduce this flight as of this summer.
The Sarajevo International Airport spokeswoman Sanja Bagarić said that due to the great interest of Kuwaiti passengers, FlyBosnia should also re-establish the flight twice a week this summer.
"In addition to this destination, FlyBosnia also plans charter flights to Turkey, Egypt and Tunisia during the 2020 summer season. Starting May 25, the company will operate flights from Sarajevo to Antalya, Hurghada and Monastir for local tour operators. Flights will run until mid-October. Flybosnia also plans to introduce charter flights to Jordan and Lebanon," Bagarić said.
At the moment, it is possible to fly to 14 destinations in the winter flight timetable from the Sarajevo Airport, with that number being slightly higher during summer.
Currently, under the winter flight timetable, the airport offers the following destinations: Zagreb, Vienna, Rome, London, Istanbul, Doha, Stockholm, Munich, Berlin, Dubai, Cologne, Belgrade, Budapest and Stuttgart.
"This summer, we expect the reintroduction of the Air Arabia line, Aegean Airlines should reintroduce flights to Athens, Norwegian to Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Flynas to Riyadh, Jeddah and Gasim.
We are also confident that this summer we will have a large number of charter flights to resorts on the Turkish coast. Lufthansa should have two daily flights to Munich in the summer season.
Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airways for summer 2020 have announced an increase in the number of flights to destinations they fly to, meaning that Qatar Airways should introduce daily flights to Doha as of this summer," Bagarić said.
She explained that the airlines are introducing new destinations, based on the market analysis.
Bagarić added that the Sarajevo International Airport is continuously working on introducing flights to new destinations.
"Based on the already started negotiations, in 2021, we expect the arrival of new airline companies, as well as the increase of frequency of flights and the introduction of new destinations from companies already flying to Sarajevo, but at this point, it is too early to talk about it," concluded Bagarić.
