President Alvi presents Džaferović with the highest state decoration of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, November 5 (FENA) - President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Arif Alvi presented the highest state medal, Nishan-e-Pakistan, to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović in Islamabad today.

In a cordial and friendly conversation, Chairman Džaferović and Pakistani President Arif Alvi expressed mutual content with the relations between the two friendly countries.

The interlocutors emphasized the commitment of the two countries to a policy of negotiating and resolving conflicts peacefully and discussed the improvement of relations, especially in the economic segment.

Chairman Džaferović thanked President Alvi for the overall support that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has provided to our country.

Džaferović said he was happy to have met with senior officials of Pakistan during the two-day official visit, saying that the meetings were very successful and that the exchange of experiences is needed by both countries.

The BiH Presidency Chairman emphasized that the goal of his visit was to improve cooperation in all segments and invited the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, presented the highest state decoration, Nishan-e-Pakistan, to the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, at a formal reception held in his honor.

This decoration was established in 1957 and was first awarded in 1959.

The Nishan-e-Pakistan medal is the highest and most prestigious civilian decoration for foreign officials who have contributed by serving their country, as well as for contributing to international relations and cooperation.

At the award ceremony, the hosts stated that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, worked diligently to improve relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Pakistan and gave his great personal contribution, and that is why the President of Pakistan, Alvi, presented him with this high state honors.

They thanked Dzaferovic because in August 2019, Bosnia and Herzegovina called for a peaceful solution to the conflict in Kashmir, while respecting human rights and the adopted United Nations resolutions.

The recipients of this medal, from its establishment until today, are, among others, Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela, President of South Africa, Emir of Qatar al Thani, Saudi King Abdullah, Japanese Emperor Akihito, Turkish presidents Abdullah Gul and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of China Xi Jinping, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamad Mahathir and former US President Richard Nixon.
