SARAJEVO, November 27 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of BiH Sifet Podžić received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of France to BiH Christine Toudic, and discussed bilateral defense cooperation and activities to improve in the coming period.
During the meeting, the current bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries was emphasized, and the desire was expressed to continue this practice in the future.
Ambassador Toudic was briefed with the most important activities of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, with Minister Podžić expressing special gratitude to the Republic of France for the assigned position on the Command and Staff Course where one member of the AFBiH is currently studying.
Also, Minister Podžić pointed out that in the coming period, the capacity for learning French in the Armed Forces of BiH will increase.
Ambassador Toudic expressed satisfaction with the current bilateral military cooperation, and stressed the openness for its continuation, including the possibility of implementing new joint projects in the near future. In addition, it was pointed out that the interest of the French Republic is a stable and secure BiH, and that in the next two years a place has been provided for members of the AFBiH at prestigious military academies in that country.
Also, Minister Podžić was informed that the number of members of the contingent of the Armed Forces of the Republic of France will be increased in the EUFOR mission, and instead of the previous seven, there will be 22 French soldiers in this mission in the future.
