SARAJEVO, April 16 (FENA) - BiH Minister of Justice Josip Grubeša held an online meeting with Head of the European Union Delegation to BiH and the EU Special Representative, Ambassador Johann Sattler.
During the talks, they discussed a large number of important issues that are within the competence of this ministry and are among the 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission that Bosnia and Herzegovina should meet in the process of joining the European Union.
The officials emphasized the urgency of adopting amendments to the Law on Conflict of Interest and the Law on the HJPC of BiH, which, as Minister Grubeša said, are being actively worked on and all measures are being taken to eliminate many ambiguities so that these laws can be included in the parliament procedure, the BiH Ministry of Justice said.
In addition to the above, they also discussed the Law on Courts in BiH, cooperation between BiH and Eurojust, then the development of a new Strategy for Reform in the Justice Sector for the period 2021-2024 and the Action Plan, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.
They also mentioned the Law on Civil Service, public administration reform as priorities, as well as the Law on Freedom of Access to Information of BiH, on which representatives of the Ministry of Justice of BiH are actively working, taking into account all received proposals and comments.
Ambassador Sattler welcomed the efforts being made by the BiH Ministry of Justice, and stressed that he would continue to provide professional and technical assistance to jointly succeed on many of these issues, stated the BiH Ministry of Justice.
