MOSTAR, May 20 (FENA) - The Government of the Federation of BiH has adopted two loan-guarantee programs intended for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and crafts, and the value of these programs is 200 million KM.
The first program is intended for micro, small and medium enterprises, and the total amount of guarantees that will be approved by the FBiH Development Bank at the expense of the Guarantee Fund is 150 million KM.
The second program refers to crafts and other independent economic activities, and in this case, the total amount of guarantees that the FBiH Development Bank will approve at the expense of the Guarantee Fund is 50 million KM.
The FBiH Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Amir Zukić said that these decisions were adopted in order to facilitate access to finance for the business sector, in this case, craft shop owners and other self-employed workers, as well as micro, small and medium enterprises.
"This is a decision that is already in force and which refers to those businesses affected by Covid-19. Now this decision has been expanded in the sense that access has been granted to all economic entities regardless of the impact of Covid-19 because it is assumed that in such a long period of time, everyone has been directly affected by the pandemic so that wider opportunities for borrowing are open now," said Zukić.
Half of the loans are provided by business entities, and half of the loans are guaranteed by the FBiH Government, the minister said.
"There is a certain gradation in the degree and possibility of borrowing, and what is important to say is that these funds that can be borrowed by economic entities are primarily intended for current liquidity, for the payment of salaries and contributions, working capital, and fixed assets and investments," the minister emphasized.
