SARAJEVO, November 12 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Džindić said that an analysis was made of the total increase in the price of natural gas from Gazprom to the supplier from the new year until today, and that amount is around 71.8 percent.
“We have come to the situation that in the last two months we have to make an agreement together so that the price for citizens does not change, that is, to fulfill our promise. That is why we talked to the cantonal Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Physical Planning and Environmental Protection Enver Hadžiahmetović, two cantonal companies and two FBiH companies. We made a model of how to do that so that the price would not increase until the New Year. Both decisions require the consent of the governments of the Federation of BiH and the Sarajevo Canton,” said Džindić.
He emphasized that the Government of the Federation of BiH will make decisions today on the mentioned agreement.
Minister Džindić suggested that after all the agreed activities are implemented within seven days, a meeting of all actors be held again to analyze what to do for the first quarter of 2022.
“I hope that we will find a model to meet all these challenges that accompany us when it comes to gas,” said Džindić.
Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Physical Planning and Environmental Protection of the Sarajevo Canton Enver Hadžiahmetović stated that the enormous increase in natural gas prices and the impossibility for Energoinvest to bear it on its own, led to a situation in which both the FBiH Government and the Sarajevo Canton Government must be involved.
