GORAŽDE, 19 January (FENA) - Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador Johann Sattler visited Goražde today, where he talked with Mayor Ernest Imamović about this part of BiH, its economic development and tourism potential available to this local community.
Ambassador Sattler assessed that Goražde has good economic potentials which, as he said, are very present, praising the readiness of this city to cooperate with other local communities.
“Goražde is a significant industrial base, and there is a significant growth of jobs that we have witnessed in the past 15 years. Of course, we also talked about the development of agriculture and tourism. Another thing in which Goražde is certainly one of the leaders is cooperation, i.e. an outstretched hand to other communities, other local governments from the region, from RS, such as Rogatica, Foča and others, and I must certainly congratulate them on that. I think that this area should and must have a common appearance, as a single region. Such an appearance is certainly in contradiction with the existing political narrative, which speaks of the impossibility of living, inciting hatred and the like. We need just such examples of building bridges and outstretched arms to others,” said Sattler.
Mayor of Goražde, Ernest Imamović, emphasized that everything that the City of Goražde wants to be was discussed, a place open to all in the Federation of BiH and in the RS entity, in joint projects which, if of good quality, will be directly supported by the EU.
“We do not need tensions and topics that have been created in the last few months. We are proof that cities from the Federation of BiH and RS can work together on projects in sports, culture, economy and the entire space should be opened to people from Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, because the specifics of the City of Goražde is that it does not want to be closed and thus deprive young people of a chance,” stated Imamović.
In addition to the fact that Goražde is an economic city, during the conversation with Ambassador Sattler, he announced more intensive work in the segment of tourism development.
