Turković receives ambassadors of Libya and Algeria for their inaugural visits

SARAJEVO, July 22 (FENA) - Bisera Turković, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, today received the Ambassadors of the State of Libya, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Bengali, and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Toufik Milut, for their inaugural visits.

Minister Turković expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Ambassador Bengali, bearing in mind the fact that he is the first extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the State of Libya in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2015, and added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the few countries that, since the revolution, has not closed its Embassy in Tripoli.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that the two countries have decades of friendship, and the willingness to continue strengthening relations and cooperation in the fields of economy, education and tourism was expressed. During the meeting, opinions were exchanged about the situation in both countries, and the importance of preserving peace and stability, which will contribute to prosperity and a better life for citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Libya, was emphasized.

At the meeting with the new ambassador of Algeria, the minister welcomed the opening of the Embassy of Algeria in our country, and added that the future opening of the embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Algeria will be an additional incentive for developing and strengthening cooperation between the two countries. She thanked for the hospitality and warm welcome during her visit to Algeria in May this year.

The ambassador of Algeria expressed the hope that during his diplomatic mandate, relations between the two countries will improve, above all when it comes to strengthening economic cooperation.

The interlocutors also exchanged opinions on contractual relations, and agreed on the possibility of signing a protocol on bilateral political consultations between Algeria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
