MOSTAR, September 7 (FENA) - The Croat People's Assembly in Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS BiH) believes that the protests, held in front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in Sarajevo in July this year, and whose continuation was announced for today, are a coordinated attempt by Bosniak political representatives for the establishment of an anti-Dayton unitary system to the detriment of the Croats and all other peoples who oppose the domination of the more numerous Bosniak people. The statement by the HNS follows below in its entirety:
The Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HNS) holds that the protests held in front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) in July, the continuation of which was announced for today, are a coordinated attempt of Bosniak political representatives to establish an anti-Dayton unitarian order to the detriment of Croats and all other peoples who oppose the domination of the more numerous Bosniak people.
The vision of an anti-Dayton unitarian Bosnia and Herzegovina has been spread by all key Bosniak political leaders already for decades. Systematic hindering of the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its fundamental concept – a country of three equal constituent peoples together with all other citizens – is aimed at excluding non-Bosniak peoples from the main political and economic processes.
The support of Turkish President Erdogan on September 6 in Sarajevo to the leading Bosniak circles and his messages directed against Western democracies and value systems encourage the policies of Bosniak radicals, accelerate anti-Dayton processes, and deepen mistrust between constituent peoples.
HNS holds that the value systems and political attitudes that "our friends" from the east are loudly promoting in Sarajevo are anti-Dayton, hostile, and unwelcome in a country that wants to become a member of the EU and NATO.
Unfortunately, they also support non-democratic actors and advocate an uncertain political period in Bosnia and Herzegovina with their stances.
Our homeland needs partners who will send messages to build trust and mutual understanding to preserve the society and the common country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
HNS reminds of the terrifying silence of representatives of the so-called civil Bosniak parties and international organizations in Sarajevo to the unprecedented hate speech, calls for violence and conflicts, and incitement by individual media representatives, pointed toward the Croat people as a whole.
HNS notes that such silence perseveres even in the case of undemocratic messages from foreign officials and that there are no reactions of the so-called civil Bosniak and international representatives.
Thereby, HNS assesses that further succumbing to the undemocratic political views of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) led by Turkey, street pressures, and threats of violence can completely undermine the credibility of the institution of the OHR.
Therefore, we remind that the constituitivity of peoples, along with legitimate political representation, is a fundamental constitutional category that cannot be traded for or eliminated by anyone.
Lastly, HNS calls on the international community to strengthen the monitoring of the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is necessary to, first of all, remove all forms of discrimination against constituent peoples and all other citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina as per the Decision of the Constitutional Court on the necessity of legitimate representation at all administrative-political levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as all judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.
