SARAJEVO, May 16 (FENA) - In the area of the Una-Sana Canton, heavy rainfall caused the water level of all rivers to rise, which caused numerous problems in several municipalities and cities in the canton, confirmed for FENA the FBiH Civil Protection Administration FUCZ).
As a result of the flooding, the municipality of Sanski Most declared a state of natural disaster yesterday, spokeswoman Majda Kovač told FENA.
She added that FUCZ had no requests for equipment and personnel from threatened areas.
As for the city of Bihać, the most serious situation after heavy rainfall last night was in the Kulen Vakuf settlement in Bihać. Where about twenty buildings were flooded, and the rescue team of the Civil Protection Service of the city of Bihać, which evacuated two local women yesterday, are still on the ground and providing assistance to the vulnerable population.
Due to extraordinary circumstances, the teaching process was temporarily suspended. Problems are also represented by rainwater, that is, the activation of landslides. Sandbags are also provided while drinking water is consumed from the cisterns.
In the city of Bihać, the water level of the Una river is 142 cm, (the critical point is 100 cm). Precipitation: 44 l/m2.
In the Sanski Most municipality, the water level of the Sana River is 343 cm, (the critical point is 380 cm). Precipitation: 40 l/m2.
