VITEZ, June 11 (FENA) - By laying wreaths and lighting candles on Saturday, eight Croat children were honored in Vitez who were killed 30 years ago today on the playground in Podgradina by a shell fired from the position of the BiH Army in Stari Vitez.
The projectile was fired in the afternoon, even though a truce had been declared between the BiH Army and the HVO.
To date, no one has been held accountable for this terrible crime, and the families of the victims say that they no longer believe that Bosnia and Herzegovina's judiciary would ever bring those responsible to justice.
Ivan Garić, whose brother and sister died that fateful day, was wounded.
He founded the Osmica association, and thanks to the families of the victims, a monument was built at the place of killing - the Podgradina playground.
