SARAJEVO, June 18 (FENA) - The remains of 29 victims of the genocide committed in Srebrenica in the summer of 1995 will be buried at the collective funeral that will be held at the Srebrenica - Potočari Memorial Center on July 11 this year.

Spokeswoman of the Missing Persons Institute of BiH, Emza Fazlić, said in an interview with FENA that the final list with the names of the victims will be concluded on July 1, and that until then families have time to decide on the identification of those remains that have been identified so far using the DNA method and give consent for their burial.

She noted that in the premises of the Podrinje identification center, there are the remains of another 55 victims who were identified with the help of the DNA method, but the families have not yet decided on the official identification and consent for burial.

According to her, the youngest victim who will be buried this year is Elvir Salčinović, who was only 15 years old when he was killed. His remains were identified in 2011, but the family has not been able to bury Elvir until now.

The oldest victim to be buried is Husein (Ibrahima) Zukić, who was 63 years old when he was killed.

Fazlić notes that every year, after the collective funeral in Potočari, the re-exhumation of previously buried victims is followed.

"According to the consents of the family members that we have received so far, 71 victims will be re-exhumed this year. Therefore, 71 graves will be opened again for the reassociation of the remains," stated Fazlić.

She said that in the premises of the Podrinje identification center, there are still around 400 remains that are also waiting for the reexhumation and reassociation process.
