SARAJEVO, July 10 (FENA) - Director General of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) Kathryne Bomberger stated today at the Srebrenica Collective Memory Conference that ICMP has been working on finding and identifying missing persons since 1996. She also said that DNA analysis was used to determine the identity of the remains of the victims in Srebrenica, which provided scientific proof that the genocide took place.

"Using scientific evidence, we have identified almost 90 percent or close to 7,000 of a total of 8,000 Muslim men and boys who were killed in a few days, which is irrefutable evidence that genocide took place, and we have presented this evidence in more than 30 criminal cases before the courts in The Hague and in BiH," said Bomberger.

She pointed out that it is the obligation of the entire international community to mark and remember what happened in Srebrenica.
