SARAJEVO, January 30 (FENA) - The head of the OSCE Mission to BiH Bruce Berton visited today the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption (APIK).
Ambassador Berton met with APIK director Hasim Šabotić and his deputies Dragan Slipac and Dragan Anđelić.
The APIK leadership informed him briefly on the activities of the Agency in the field of prevention and coordination of the fight against corruption, with a special emphasis on the process of forming bodies for the prevention of corruption at all levels of government in BiH.
Ambassador Berton was also informed about the obstacles facing this institution when it comes to successful prevention and coordination of the fight against corruption in BiH.
The Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH stressed the importance of this agency operating at a high level and successfully coordinating with other anti-corruption bodies in BiH.
The Ambassador expressed the unreserved support to the APIK Mission and expressed the readiness of the OSCE Mission to BiH to organize in March a conference dedicated to the fight against corruption in cooperation with this Agency.
Ambassador Berton was also interested in the views of the APIK leadership on the Law on Conflict of Interest in BiH Institutions that is in the parliamentary procedure as well as on the Law on Protection of Persons Reporting Corruption in BiH Institutions.
In addition, the head of the OSCE Mission to BiH during this meeting announced a visit of the OSCE Secretary General to BiH in February this year, APIK said.
